R2-D2 is a beloved character in the Star Wars franchise. He is an astromech droid, which means he is a helper droid. He has appeared in ten of the eleven theatrical Star Wars films to date. R2-D2 is a loyal friend to C-3PO, Padmé Amidala, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is always there to help them in their adventures.
